Ms. Sikora (Roxana Mori) studied voice in her native Perú with the famous coloratura soprano Lucrecia Sarria. At the age of 16 she began to sing professionally with the international company of zarzuelas and operettas under the direction of Faustino García, touring South America. Her zarzuela repertoire included about 40 zarzuelas, operettas and revistas. At 18 she received the prestigious "Pluma de Plata" award for outstanding performances presented by the circle of journalist. At the age of 19 she moved to Long Island. After arriving in the US, she begun to study music at Stony Brook University. Since coming to Cortland, she has studied voice with Marion Hanson. Since 1995, Ms. Sikora has been the section leader and has appeared as soloist with the Choral Union under the direction of Stephen B. Wilson performing Haydn's The Creation, Handel's Messiah, Rossini's Stabat Mater, Bach's Magnificat, Fauré's Requiem, J. Rutter's Magnificat, Saint Saen's Christmas Oratorio, Mozart’s Verspae Solennes de Confessore. Beethoven's Mass in C and the Elegisher Gesang.
Upon her admission to Binghamton University she was awarded a full-term doctoral scholarship. She earned her doctorate in comparative literature and two graduate certificates one in Translation and the other in Medieval Studies. She also holds a degree in Journalism earned in Lima, Perú. Dr. Sikora combines her teaching activities with academic and cultural programs for her students implementing web-enhanced and media-assisted Spanish curricula.
Her recent international performances with Stephen Wilson have been in San José, Costa Rica (where she presented this program of Piazzolla's vocal tangos for Veritas University) and Kingston, Canada. In New York City she has performed the main roles in the zarzuelas Luisa Fernanda and La verbena de la Paloma. Together with Stephen Wilson they created the artistic enterprise Los Tangueros. Under this enterprise, she has presented the inaugural concert for the new Center for the Arts in Homer, a mini-concert in Cortland for the Arts in the Park and a Full Concert at Queen’s University in Canada. Under the rubric of Alma Andina (multicultural music) Ms. Sikora has made presentations at the Ithaca Festival with the appearance of two new voices in the group: Skye Wilson and the celebrated prodigy Emmanuel Sikora. Together with Stephen Wilson Dr. Sikora has presented an eclectic series of music at different venues. Gina Sikora has been a regular participant in the celebrations of the Latino Heritage Month, in Ithaca, during the month of October. In Central New York she has presented two concerts at LeMoyne College: An Anthology of Tango and Las Canciones Populares de García Lorca. In 2006 she formed the enterprise ZarzuelaCNY.Org [Concert and Lyric Artists] and produced and staged a full performance of Antología de la Zarzuelabringing to Central New York the most famous Hispanic lyric voices of NYC. Ms. Sikora is being urged to prepare another full staged performance which will be presented in the spring of 2010. Ms. Sikora will be performing in May of 2010 in Perú; the tourné will include six cities in the North of Perú.
When not singing or teaching, Dr. Sikora is an active Rotarian and scholar. At the present she teaches at Tompkins Cortland Community College where she is implementing online and hybrid language courses and is one of the Faculty Liaisons for College Now TC3. The elected president of Rotary International district 7170 Sam Kouri, has invited Dr. Sikora to be the literacy zone coordinator during his term in office. She will also be in the board of directors of the recently formed, non profit organization, Cortland Music, Inc.

Gina Sikora estudió canto en Lima, Perú, su país natal, con Lucrecia Sarria, famosa soprano peruana de coloratura. Desde los 16 años empezó a cantar profesionalmente con la compañía internacional de zarzuelas y operetas de Faustino García, haciendo giras por toda Sudamérica. A los 18 años de edad recibió el prestigioso premio "Pluma de Plata", otorgado por los periodistas y críticos de arte del Perú. En los Estados Unidos cursó estudios de música en Stony Brook University y, desde su llegada a Cortland, ha estudiado canto con Marion Hanson (Marion Giambattista). Gina Sikora ha sido solista de la iglesia de St. Anthony's bajo la dirección de Janet Radmore. En la actualidad es solista de la iglesia de St. Mary's en Cortland, bajo la dirección de Barbara Pauldine. Desde 1995 ha participado como solista de la Unión Coral, bajo la dirección de Stephen Wilson, ella ha cantado The Creation de Haydn, el Messiah de Handel, el Stabat Mater de Rossini, la Magnificat de Bach, el Requiem de Faure, entre otras obras. Gina Sikora recibió su doctorado en Literatura Comparada, con especialización en estudios medievales en la Binghamton University, teniendo como director de su tesis doctoral a Ciriaco Morón Arroyo. En el campo docente ella ha trabajado en varias prestigiosas universidades del Estado de New York. Gina Sikora presenta anualmente recitales de música española, acompañada al piano por Stephen Wilson, como complemento artístico y cultural para los departamentos de Lenguas Romances de varias universidades del Estado. Sus más recientes presentaciones han sido en San José, Costa Rica, en la Universidad Véritas con el programa Puro Piazzolla, el cual tuvo una gran aceptación entre el público tico. En la ciudad de Nueva York se ha presentado en roles protagónicos en las zarzuelas Luisa Fernanda y La verbena de la Paloma. Junto con Stephen Wilson han creado la promotora artística Los Tangueros y bajo este rubro han presentado el concierto inagural del nuevo Center for the Arts in Homer, un concierto en el Ithaca Festival 2005, un mini-concierto en Cortlad para el Arts in the Park , en julio del 2005. En el mes de octubre y como una tradición desde hace seis años, Gina Sikora es una de las artistas invitadas a las celebraciones del Mes de la Hispanidad en Ithaca. También ha participado como solista en la Misa en do y la Canción Elegíaca de Beethoven. Durante el invierno del 2006, Sikora presentó un conciero de tango en la universidad LeMoyne, en Syracuse, intitulado: Una antología del Tango. En mayo, Sikora será una de las solistas de la obra Vesperae Solennes de confessore de Mozart. Entre los planes artistícos para el verano del 2006, Sikora esta preparando otro concierto para el Ithaca Festival 2006; en esta oportunidad y bajo el nombre de Alma Andina (música multicultural y de los Andes), Sikora y Wilson planean incluir a dos nuevos miembros en el grupo. Para mayo 27, Sikora se presentará en el Festival multicultural que se llevarán a cabo en el estadio del Fowler High School, en Syracuse.
